Kevin Major and Bruce Roberts have created a real gem of a book. Aunt Olga is 95 years old and is an amazing woman; she dresses in red from head to toe, writes poetry and is a tai chi enthusiast. She also collects Christmas postcards from long ago. The collection is her passion, which she shares with her great-great niece, Anna.

A few days before Christmas, Anna visits her beloved aunt for their annual holiday ritual. As they much on delicious gingerbread cookies and go through postcards, aunt Olga recalls events in her life. Some memories are real, others are imagined. Young Anna is delighted, especially when her dear aunt gives her the precious collection as a gift.

This bittersweet story of intergenerational friendship is beautifully illustrated by Bruce Roberts. His whimsical and warm watercolours reflect the close relationship between aunt Olga and Anna. The lovely artwork is complemented by Kevin Major's own fascinating collection of vintage postcards. A perfect book to give or receive.
