Who is Gugus? He is a likeable character who morphs -- depending on how he feels -- into a mouse, a frog, a pig, a wolf and even a tyrannosaurus! In this book, the author explores the affection a boy feels for his little brother even if his mood swings sometimes resemble the behaviour of certain animals!

The amusing, rhyming text is well complemented by the full-page illustrations of Nicole Claveloux who skilfully takes advantage of the book's vertical format to capture the personality of each animal. Using a palette of pastel colours, the illustrator has created a series of simple, gentle images sure to appeal to small children.
